What ICU and critical care at home covers

This level of care includes managing oxygen therapy, supporting patients on home ventilation, tracheostomy care and suctioning, and continuous monitoring of vitals such as oxygen saturation, heart rate and blood pressure. Everything is carried out under the care plan set by your treating doctor or hospital, not decided independently by the nurse.

Because the margin for error is small, documentation matters too: a clear record of readings, medication and any changes, so your doctor has an accurate picture between visits or check-ins.

Who this is for

This service is for patients being discharged from an ICU or HDU who still need trained nursing support at home, typically with a clear care plan and medical clearance from the treating team. It is not a substitute for hospital care where hospital-level monitoring or intervention is still required, and we'll say so plainly if a situation isn't yet safe to manage at home.

Why this role needs an experienced critical-care nurse

General nursing experience isn't enough here. We place nurses with relevant critical or high-dependency care experience, and verify their training, registration and background specifically for this kind of work, in addition to standard CNIC and reference checks. This is deliberately the most rigorously screened role we place.

24-hour coverage and rotation

Critical care at home is almost always round-the-clock work, so we staff in rotation between trained nurses rather than relying on one person for extended stretches. Alert, rested nurses are essential when the work involves ventilator or oxygen management.

Coordinating with your doctor and hospital

Our nurses work to the care plan set by your treating physician and stay in communication with your family about the patient's status. We don't make independent medical decisions: our role is trained, careful execution of the plan your doctor has set, at home instead of in a ward.
